The BVC is experiencing a time of less volatility than other Stock Exchange Markets in the region but also a decreasing volume of movements.
The Colombian Stock Exchange is one of the markets that best performance has been showing in the first semester of the year. The good prices of the commodities and the good performance of the domestic market and local firms are giving to the Stock Exchange stability.
But this stability is causing fewer movements in the BVC (Spanish acronym for Colombian Stock Exchange) due to the Pension Funds and Insurance Companies are retaining its positions and their assets.
The correct intervention of the Bank of the Republic to maintain a lower inflation and to manage the reference interest rate in steady numbers through the first semester of the year is creating very good expectations regarding the fixed income assets market in the country and the eyes of the foreign investors are being captured. This also will provide a better performance for the second semester of the year for all the companies that are listed in the Colombian Stock Market.
But this will depend on the international price of the WTI crude due to how much that commodity weight in the Colombian Stock Exchange.
