The Colombian subsidiary of Microsoft was awarded in 2010 as the Best Microsoft Subsidiary in the World due to its performance, and wants to earn this award again.
We all know that the innovation never was the core of the business of Microsoft. They had a great bag of products with the Windows and the Office, but after Windows XP and Office XP could not create a new product that generates that feeling to the final customer, until now.
Microsoft enter into the mobile world a little to late and with their alliance with Nokia, which was one of the companies that lost against Blackberry in the first stage of the Smartphone Battle, and latter with Apple and Samsung; their results were very poor. They also had to fight against the operative system of google that currently has a large quota of market. As we stated earlier in this paper the innovation never was the strong side of Microsoft, usually when they want to innovate the things do not go well.
I guess that this was one of the reasons why they came back to its core business, and came out with Windows 7, which basically is a Windows XP with new tools for media interaction and connectivity, and with the new Office that is basically the Office XP with new tools for connectivity.
Now the company wants to go out in the market with Windows 8 and Office 15, we hope that these products are not innovative enough to continue with the Microsoft trend of horrible innovation. We hope that these products are an improvement of Windows 7, which was an improvement of Windows XP, because they improve well but they innovate badly.
