In the presentation of the new Black Berry 10, Throstein Heins, CEO of Black Berry communicated the decision of the company of synchronizing the two names.
No longer will you have to refer to Research in Motion as the Black Berry producer, simply it will be BlackBerry. This is a desperate attempt to restore the sexy of their most valuable product.
Frank Boulben, chief marketing officer of BlackBerry, said “We wanted to have one brand, one premise, to focus all of our marketing efforts”, referring to the intention of the company to recover the status of the coolest device for executives.
But what about the device itself? Some critics say it is OK, but came a little too late, now to beat Iphone or Androids Samsung Galaxy there has to do a lot better, to make some of their users to decide to switch to Black Berry 10. According to Verizon it will cost 200 bucks and is expected to recover a bit of their old glory after releasing the national advertises on Superbowl this Sunday.
Is important to remember that the market share is only 4.6%, this just is a 10% of its biggest share in history.
